A car engine is design with many moving parts, and those parts need to be properly lubricated to avoid damage.

Over time, the oil breaks down and becomes contaminated with dust, dirt and debris. Whenever this happen it's very hard for the oil to do what it needs to do from the engine. Dirt are deadly to the engine. A engine that works too hard will end up having further problems in the near future. Dirt creates corrosion and decrease the life of the engine. Overtime dirty oil turns into sludge. With a routine oil and filter change this eliminates friction and over-heating of the engine. Poor lubrication can lead to increased fuel consumption, with the proper engine oil and routine oil change gas mileage can be improved over time by 1- 2% which may not sound like a lot but the average car leads to savings of an entire gallon of gas for a year. Oil changes are very important to your vehicle.
