Check your lights
With the sun setting earlier in the day, you want to make sure all your lights are working properly. If a bulb is out replaced it before driving.
Check your battery
In cold weather it is more difficult for a battery to operate correctly. In other words your car battery works better in warm weather, for an example a battery that's merely weak during the summer could turn into a dead battery during the weather. We suggest that you get your battery tested before the winter starts. By during this it will save you from being stranded in the cold.
Check your coolant
Coolant, also known as antifreeze, is very important to your car, it keeps your engine from freezing in cold temperatures. Before winter start make sure your car isn't low of coolant. Have your vehicle inspected for any leaks, again coolant is very important to your car. We suggest that drivers use a 50/50 mix of coolant and water in the radiator, this blend lower engine freezing point than just coolant.
Check your tire pressure
Tire pressure, is important as well in the winter. This is because tire pressure can drop with the air temperature, losing up to one pound per square inch with every 10-degree drop. While driving around on low tire pressure could be harmful to the tires which can cause tire wear and or tread separation in this case can lead to a major accident. If you find one or more tires low air them.
Test your Defroster and Heater
Before winter, be sure to check your defroster and heater to make sure there are properly working. The purpose is the defroster will help keep the window from icing up. The purpose for the heat is to keep your window from fogging and to keep your love ones and you warm during your travel.
